With its 8,000 objects that portray everyday, festive, imaginary and religious events, Casa do Pontal Museum houses permanent and temporary exhibitions to reveal the essence of a multifaceted country. And, to learn about all these attractions, just embark on an incredible ride from your hotel lobby along the Rio beaches from Leme to Pontal. You will be amazed at what Brazil has to offer besides the tourist sights.

Admired by foreign personalities - writer José Saramago, for example, applauded by Brazilians such as musician Gilberto Gil and recognized as an Artistic and Cultural Heritage of Rio de Janeiro, is a must on Rio excursions.

Bilingual Guides

On weekends the galleries have staff on duty to provide information to visitors in English and Portuguese. Museu Casa do Pontal is open regularly Tuesday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.. The explanatory texts for the permanent collection are in Portuguese, English and French.

Guided musical tours for Brazilian and foreign tourists

A guided tour is offered in Portuguese and English to highlight the creativity and cultural heritage originating in the working classes. During the visit, actors and musicians may accompany the participants on a journey through the cultural universe of various regions in Brazil. The written material contains information about the Museum and the collection of Jacques Van Beuque, on the works themselves and what they represent, with information about the lives of the artists and regions where they work. In addition, the folk songs are researched and performed, accompanied by musical instruments, throughout the tour.

This service is provided by appointment and may be held from Tuesday to Sunday upon request, at an additional cost. Advance payment is required.
