Isabel R. Martins

Isabel Rodrigues Martins was born on 12 May 1963 in the municipality of Taiobeiras, Minas Gerais State. She makes clay figures that are always black characters involved in activities of rural everyday life. Isabel adopted this theme inspired by the work of her brother-in-law João Alves, who in turn is a follower of the work of Maria de Assunção.
