Antônio Rodrigues

Antonio Rodrigues was born in 1951 in the village of Alto do Moura, Caruaru, Pernambuco State. With his father Zé Caboclo’s encouragement his first lessons were on the technique and art of figurative ceramics. At first he would repeat the themes invented by his father but eventually achieved his own personal style when older. His creations are the "Council of the animals”, "Brown sugar mill" and "Pottery”. He is renowned as a traditional artist who continued the art of the great master artisans of Alto do Moura through his ongoing production. He would sing as Caboclo Filho in the early years.
